Denon is adding a new member to its Heos line of wireless speakers. The new HomeCinema is a soundbar, with an external subwoofer, that can improve TV sound and connect to the wireless Heos sound system.
Better sound for your TV
As TVs have become thinner soundbars have become more popular. Consumers want great sound to match great pictures. Denon promises to address that concern with its latest soundbar that doubles as a music speaker.

The soundbar has built-in stereo speakers but can also imitate surround, says Denon. It supports Dolby Digital Plus and DTS and can be connected to a TV via HDMI. If your TV supports HDMI ARC you can control the volume with the TV remote, too. The soundbar also offers optical and coaxial audio connectors, and the subwoofer is a separate box that connects wirelessly to the soundbar.
HomeCinema can connect wirelessly to Denon’s Heos multi-room system. This means that you can listen to music on the soundbar and other speakers from a phone or tablet, and have your music playing in several rooms at once. It is not yet possible to get 5.1 surround from the TV by adding extra Heos speakers, which Sonos is offering with its Playbar.
Heos HomeCinema will be available starting in July for 799 USD / Euro.
