Samsung will soon launch a new flat JS7000 TV in 50, 55, and 60 inch sizes. It will be an affordable model in the SUHD line-up that takes Ultra HD further with a wider color space and “higher” dynamic range.
Samsung JS7000 is part of SUHD
Samsung’s SUHD TVs were announced at CES and the line-up has since been expanded with a few extra models. JS7000 stands to be the most affordable of the bunch. It incorporates the same nanocrystal technology to expand the color space as the more expensive models.
Samsung has positioned SUHD as a premium product that is capable of more than conventional Ultra HD TVs. Samsung says that JS7000 has an “expanded” or “higher” dynamic range compared to conventional TVs. Samsung’s top-of-the-line JS9500 uses full-array LED backlight with local dimming zones to enable HDR. The other existing SUHD models use edge LED to offer a somewhat wider dynamic range, but not the full range.
JS7000 will also offer Smart TV features such as apps for Netflix and YouTube. The TV has a quad-core processor and has integrated “ac” WiFi that is fast enough to stream high-quality content over the internet and network. More specifications are available here.
Samsung JS7000 will launch in 50-inch (UN50JS7000), 55-inch (UN55JS7000) and 60-inch (UN60JS7000) sizes in the US soon. Samsung has not confirmed pricing details but some retailers list the new TVs for $1300, $1600, and $2100, respectively.
