HBO Now recently came to Android and you can now enjoy the streaming service on your TV via Chromecast, too. It works with iOS and Android devices.
HBO Now on Chromecast
HBO Now is HBO’s stand-alone streaming service and competitor to Netflix. It started as an Apple-exclusive service but is currently expanding to more devices.
If you, like millions of other cord cutters / shavers, own a Chromecast you can push HBO Now to the big screen wirelessly. Chromecast takes over the stream to HBO’s servers so you can use your mobile device for other tasks. It works from Android phones and tables as well as Apple iPhone and iPad.
The latest “Android TV” based devices such as Sony and Philips’ 2015 TVs as well as media players like Nexus Player and Nvidia Shield also feature built-in Chromecast functionality.
HBO Now is also adding support for Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick soon. There are no specific details on Roku, Android TV & Smart TVs but HBO is has already said that it intends to expand availability.
Chromecast also received support for Watch Food Network, Watch Travel Channel, Rokemon TV, and a few games with the update.
