LG slashes 4K OLED TV prices by $1000
You can now get a flat or curved 4K OLED TV for less than $3000 dollars. LG has slashed the prices of all 4K OLED TVs by $1000. LG has also lowered the price of its HD OLED TV.Some of the best TVs around
It is amazing to see how aggressively LG is pushing OLED TVs. The first OELD TV launched a little over two years ago for $15,000 and now you can get an OLED TV with 4K and HDR for less than $3000.
Shortly after launching the new TVs in the US, LG is slashing prices of all four models - two curved and two flat - by $1000. You can now buy a 55” 4K OLED for just below $3000 and a 65” 4K OLED for just below $5000. When shopping for a high-end TV you now have a real choice between LCDs with quantum dots, such as Samsung’s JS9500, and LG’s OLEDs for $500 more.
LG’s flat TV is called EF9500 whereas the curved version is called EG9600. Both TVs come with the latest webOS 2.0 operating system, apps, and other “smart” features. They also offer 4K resolution and support for HDR (high dynamic range). There is not much content to watch in 4K yet and even less in HDR but much more is expected in 2016.
Additionally, LG has lowered the price of its 55” HD OLED TV, 55EC9300, to $1800. LG recently introduced a new HD OLED TV called 55EG9100.
All four 4K OLEDs are available now. To see the new reduced prices follow the links below. No words on price reductions for Europe yet.
