Starting today, Roku owners can enjoy series such as Game of Thrones, The Sopranos and The Wire through the HBO Now app. It works on Roku players, including the new Roku 4, and Roku TVs. You can download the app from the Roku Channel Store. Picture quality is 1080p.

- “HBO NOW is a hit with consumers and we’re thrilled to make it available to millions of Roku customers,” said Jeff Dallesandro, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Digital Distribution and Business Development, HBO.
- “Bringing our programming to consumers through HBO NOW is a natural evolution for HBO, and partnering with a streaming leader such as Roku greatly extends the reach of our service as we usher in this next phase of innovation for our network.”

HBO Now launched in March 2015 as a stand-alone service that requires no cable TV subscription. HBO is going head to head with Netflix but is only available in the US at the moment. The company has not shared any user numbers but the new service is reportedly off to a great start.

HBO Now is available for $14.99 per month with a 30-day free trial.
