For the first time, Samsung’s TV sales in North America topped $1 billion in the month of October. Samsung has grown to become the leading TV maker and is dominating the UHD TV market, according to data from NPG Group.
Leading TV seller in North America
According to analyst firm NPD Group, Samsung is the leading TV seller in the US. The company accounts for 35.1% of TV sales in the US and 28.4% in Canada.
For UHD TV sales Samsung accounted for more than half of all TV sales in North America in the third quarter of 2015; 51.1% in the US and 54.4% in Canada.

- “Samsung Electronics attaining over $1 billion in monthly sales in North America shows that the Samsung has now become the most trusted and representative TV brand,” said Yoon Lee, SVP of Visual Display at Samsung.
Samsung started selling its high-end SUHD TVs – LCD TVs with quantum dot technology - this year to compete with LG’s OLED TVs. Both companies are also pushing the curved form factor hard.
The company entered the North American TV market 11 years ago and achieved $100 million in monthly sales in September 2004 and $500 in October 2007.
