BBC’s popular iPlayer is now available on Apple TV. You can watch live channels and browse through the archive. BBC is also working on integrating its content with Apple’s universal search.
BBC iPlayer on Apple TV
When Apple launched the new Apple TV with tvOS, BBC said that it had immediate no plans to bring it to the box. UK’s public service provider later changed its mind and promised to bring the iPlayer to Apple’s TV box.
And here it is. The app was released a few hours ago and is available as a free download from the tvOS App Store. If you live in the UK you can browse through BBC’s live channels, recommendations, favorited programs, search, and the 30-day archive. You can pause and rewind, too. At the moment there are no subtitles but they will be available in a later update.

"With the launch of iPlayer on new Apple TV, I’m delighted we've been able to give people another way of accessing the full breadth and range of BBC programs."
If you purchase content from the BBC Store you will be able to watch it on Apple TV through the app. The mobile apps were also updated.
BBC is working on integrating its app with Apple’s universal search, making it possible to use Siri to find TV programs and content.
