AOC has unveiled its latest PC monitor; a 35-inch curved monitor designed for gaming. It features FreeSync technology and 160 Hz refresh rate. The manufacturer will also launch new 4K and quantum dot based monitors.
A curved 35” monitor
AOC has unveiled a range of new monitors. The most significant addition to the line-up is the 35-inch curved C3583FQ. The ultra-wide (21:9 aspect ratio) gaming monitor has a VA panel, FreeSync (range: 45 Hz and up), and up to 160 Hz refresh rate through an “overclocked” mode, says AOC.
The monitor offers 2560x1080 resolution, which is not as high as certain high-end monitors but a good match for gaming. Response time is 5 ms (g2g). The design is fairly basic with a rectangular base that is slightly rounded at the front to complement the curved design. It can be connected to a PC via 2x HDMI (1.4), 2x DisplayPort (1.2a) or DVI. There are also built-in 2x5W speakers, and a headphone port.
4K, Style, and quantum dots
At CES 2016, AOC will also unveil two other monitors. 27-inch I2771FM9 is a quantum dot based IPS monitor that can reproduce a wider color gamut than standard sRGB based monitors at a lower cost, says AOC. Another new monitor is 28-inch U2879VF, which offers 4K (3840x2160) resolution as well as DisplayPort 1.2a and HDMI 2.0 ports. It also has FreeSync.
Lastly, AOC will expand its line-up of “Style” monitors that the company unveiled in October. Starting in March 2016, the line-up will consist of 21.5-inch, 23-inch, 24-inch, and 27-inch monitors. All with IPS panels and asymmetric design with thin bezels.
Pricing details and full specifications will be unveiled at CES 2016 in Las Vegas this January.
