Dell’s existing U2414H has been a popular choice for the desktop and with U2417H the company has unveiled its successor. It still uses an IPS panel and has a new “InfinityEdge” design with slim bezels.
The successor to U2414H
The new U2417H is mostly an evolution of the current U2414H so expect no major changes.
The most visible change is the thinner bezel. The bezel, including the inner panel border, is now just 5.30 mm on each side and the top and 8.83 mm at the bottom. Dell has labeled it “InifinityEdge” like some of its laptops. It continues to offer several ergonomic adjustment options (height, tilt, swivel and pivot).

The monitor is based on a 24” IPS panel with 1920x1080 pixel resolution. It has 60 Hz refresh rate and standard IPS specs such as 1000:1 contrast ratio and 8 ms (g2g) response time. It supports the full sRGB color gamut and comes pre-calibrated (deltaE <2) from the factory.
The monitor can be connected to a PC via DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI 1.4 or mini-DisplayPort 1.2. There is also a DisplayPort 1.2 output, four USB 3.0 outputs, and a headphone port.
Dell U2417H is expected to be available in February 2016. Pricing details have not been announced.
