Netflix has released a major update for its Apple iOS app. The 8.0 release adds support for post-play on iPhone, 3D Touch, iPad Pro, Arabic, and more. But still no picture-in-picture.
Major update for iOS
Netflix had teased the next major update for iPhone/iPad for a few days and it is now available from the App Store. Besides some performance improvements, it brings a range of new features with it.

First off it adds support for post-play on iPhone. This is Netflix’s auto-play feature that either starts playing the new episode in the season or recommends a new show to watch after you have finished your current binge-spree.
The update also adds support for 3D Touch, meaning that you can force press one of the titles in the catalogue to read a short description of the show. Swipe up if you want to watch it or save it for later. Press harder if you want to learn more.
In addition, Netflix created an optimized layout for iPad Pro, improved the Kids experience on iPad, and added Arabic support (only on iOS9).
Unfortunately, the update does not include support for picture-in-picture in Apple’s latest iPad.
