First 4K Roku TVs
You probably already know the Roku media players. With the Roku TV initiative the company partners with TV manufacturers to bake its operating system (Roku OS) directly into TV.
More than 1 million Roku TVs have been sold to date. Insignia - Best Buy’s in-house brand - is now launching the first 4K-capable Roku TVs. Haier, Sharp and Hisense are also Roku TV partners.

- “These new TVs combine excellent picture quality and resolution with an easy to use smart TV experience that is truly unique to Roku TV – all at an affordable price,” said Chas Smith, SVP and general manager Roku TV & Players. “Customer response to the HD Insignia Roku TV models has been tremendous and we expect that same enthusiasm for these new TVs as consumers look for a great 4K UHD smart TV.”
The Roku platform offers access to more than 3,000 streaming app. You can enjoy 4K video from services such Netflix, Plex, YouTube, and UltraFlix. This is possible because the TVs support HEVC and VP9 decoding. More than 10 apps currently support 4K streaming, Roku says. There is a dedicated 4K catagory in the store.
Roku has also confirmed that it will team up with partners to launch HDR-capable TVs later.
The Insignia 4K Roku TVs are available exclusively from Best Buy
