Sony’s cord-cutting service PlayStation Vue is now available across the US after being limited a few cities for some time. The TV service allows you to enjoy TV content streamed over the internet on your PlayStation console or Fire TV box.

PlayStation Vue expands

Sony’s PlayStation Vue service launched on year ago with promises to make the TV experience dramatically better. However, Vue was only available in select US cities at launch.

The service is now available to everyone in the US and the price has dropped to $30 for the “Slim package” with 50-55 channels but without local channels from ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC. Content from these stations will only be available as on-demand content if you subscribe to the “Slim package”, typically 24 hours after the live broadcast, says Sony.

A $35 “Core Slim package” with about 70 channels is also available as well as a $45 “Elite Slim package” with more than 100 channels.

It is possible to stream live and on-demand TV. There is also a cloud DVR available for “recorded” content.

To use PlayStation Vue you need to install an app on your PlayStation 3 or 4 game console or Amazon Fire TV. You can also watch TV content from Vue on iPad, iPhone, and Chromecast. You need to own at least one PlayStation console or Fire TV to start watching. More information and free trial at playstation.com.
