Tribeca Shortlist on Apple TV
The tvOS App Store on Apple TV continues to expand and one of the latest apps is Tribeca Shortlist, which is a streaming service that launched in late 2015. It is now available on Apple TV, PC, Roku, Amazon Fire TV and iPhone/iPad. Airplay and Chromecast are also supported. It is coming soon to Android.
Tribeca Shortlist is a subscription service that offers handpicked movies. These are not blockbuster Hollywood titles but generally highly rated movies from various studios. For example, the top 50 percent of movies on the service have a Rotten Tomato rating of around 90 percent, the company said.
The library includes titles such as The Hurt Locker, Jerry Maguire, Shakespeare in Love, Good Will Hunting, Platoon, The Professional and American Psycho. To keep you interested one-third of the catalog is changed every month.
On Apple TV you can save movies for later watching on “My List”, browse categories or search. You can also find new titles from the “Featured” home screen. Most movies are also presented with a so-called “Shortlister”, which is video recommendation for the particular title.
On iPhone and iPad you can download movies for offline viewing. Once the app launches on Android in the near future the same feature will be available.
