If you are looking for a truly gigantic monitor for your desktop Philips MMD’s new monitor may be for you. The company has launched a new 43" BDM4350UC with 4K resolution.
A huge desktop monitor
Over the last couple of years Philips has steadily increased the size of its PC monitors and the company thinks that the market is now ready for a 43” version. You are of course free to place it on either a desktop table or the wall.

The monitor is based on an IPS LCD panel with 3840x2160 pixels. The IPS panel should offer wide viewing angles. The monitor differs from dedicated TVs in that it fully supports PC signals in 4K 60Hz and full RGB. You can connect it to a PC via either one of the two DisplayPort or one of the two HDMI 2.0 connectors.
Philips has developed a "MultiView 4K" system that lets you have four different pictures in four quadrants of the screen, coming from four different input ports. Each picture will be reproduced in 1920x1080 – or Full HD. There is also a PiP (picture-in-picture) function.
The company believes that the monitor is suited for professionals working in several different fields or just discerning consumers.

Philips 43" BDM4350UC has a suggested retail price of 700 Euro and will be available in Europe in early May. No details have been announced for the US.
