The new 6000 series from Philips will be Google Cast enabled and offer 4K as well as HDR support, P&F who has licensed the Philips brand for North America has announced.
More Google Cast TVs incoming
When Philips announced its TV line-up for the US at CES 2016, it did not reveal that its new 6000 series was in fact Google Cast enabled. The company has now confirmed this extra bit of information.
Vizio was the first company to announce TVs built entirely on Google Cast - no Android TV user interface. Instead you use your phone or tablet to push content wirelessly to the TV. Since then, Polaroid and now Philips have announced similar TVs, and it appears that even more are on the way from other brands.

The Philips 6000 series will be available in 43, 49, 55, and 65-inch sizes. The company has decided to mix panel types across the range with the 43 and 65-inch models using VA LCD panels, whereas the 49 and 55-inch sizes use IPS LCD panels. This means that picture quality will vary.
Philips adds that all of the TVs have 4K resolution and HDMI 2.0 ports. Furthermore, the company claims that the TVs support HDR (high dynamic). However, be aware the TVs do not have the hardware to reproduce HDR and have not been “UHD Premium” certified.
With Google Cast you can push video to the TV from apps such as Netflix, YouTube, Google Play Movies, Vudu, Hulu, and many more.
The Philips 6000 series will be available in the US starting from June for $650, $800, $1000, and $1500, respectively.
