Philips BDP7501 is the second UHD Blu-ray player to hit the US. The compact box is available now for $400 and comes bundled with a copy of Creed.

P&F USA has licensed the rights to use the Philips brand in the US and as promised it has released one of the first UHD Blu-ray players in the US. The player will not be available in Europe.
Philips BDP7501 obviously supports all elements of the UHD Blu-ray standard, meaning 4K resolution, HDR (high dynamic range), and wide color gamut. It is equipped with two HDMI ports; one for video and one for audio. Furthermore it offers support for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD MA and passthrough for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.
The box also comes with apps, including Netflix and YouTube, for streaming video in 4K and HDR as well as built-in WiFi (802.11ac with MIMO). The compact form factor differs from many regular Blu-ray players.
Samsung was first to launch a UHD Blu-ray player globally and in the US. The Philips player will be the second player to hit the US, followed by Xbox One S in August and Panasonic’s player in September.
The Philips BDP7501 UHD Blu-ray player is shipping now for $400. There is a copy of the movie Creed bundled in the box.
