Samsung’s first Dolby Atmos soundbar, HW-K950, was unveiled at CES 2016 in January and the more affordable HW-K850 was announced later. Both are now available in stores.
Samsung’s first Atmos soundbars
Dolby Atmos usually requires a full setup of speakers but Samsung believes that a soundbar can also benefit from Dolby’s object-based sound technology.

Samsung’s HW-K950 is the more capable of the two new soundbars. It comes with two wireless rear speakers and a subwoofer. Samsung says that it delivers 500W in 5.1.4 channels.
The more affordable HW-K850 has no rear speakers but still comes with a wireless subwoofer. It delivers 360W in 3.1.2 channels. Both have 2 HDMI ports and Bluetooth.

Dolby Atmos is - like DTS:X - an object-based audio technology that can place “sound objects” in your living room. You may already have experienced Dolby Atmos in the cinema.
HW-K950 is available now in the US and Europe. HW-K850 is available for pre-order in the US and is coming very soon to Europe.
