AOC launches 27 and 32" 4K PC monitors

17 Aug 2016 | Rasmus Larsen |

AOC has added two new PC monitors with 4K resolution to its line-up. The 27 and 32” monitors come with IPS and VA LCD panels, respectively. Prices start at 649 Euro.

The market for PCs is in decline but that has not deterred AOC who has grown to become one of the largest manufacturers of PC monitors in recent years. The company is now adding two 4K monitors to its portfolio and as always the new monitors are more affordable than most competitors’ products.

27" U2777PQU and 31.5" U3277PWQU both come with 3840x2160 resolution and a flicker-free backlight but the type of LCD panel varies. The smaller of the two has an IPS LCD panel whereas the bigger employs a VA LCD panel. IPS is characterized by wide viewing angles but weak contrast, and vice versa for VA. Both types are suitable for work with photos, colors, and graphics – or just if you want lots of desktop space.

The bigger U3277PWQU can also reproduce wide color gamut. It covers 95% of NTSC, according to AOC. However, NTSC is not used in practice and AOC did not say how much of the AdobeRGB gamut it covers.

Each monitor can be height, swivel, and tilt adjusted. Connections include DisplayPort, HDMI 2.0, DVI and D-SUB (VGA). There are also USB 3.0 ports built into the frame. Lastly, AOC highlights the picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture functions. Full specifications are available here and here.

AOC U2777PQU and U3277PWQU will be available in September for 649 and 699 Euro, respectively.
