It has been a few years since Samsung focused on the gaming monitor segment but at the Gamescom conference Samsung has returned with a new CFG70 series. The first monitor is a curved 24” model with 144Hz, 1ms and FreeSync.
Samsung C24FG70 with FreeSync
The new monitor from Samsung has been dubbed C24FG70 and unlike many other gaming monitors, it employs a VA LCD panel. This panel type has high native contrast (3000:1).
The frame is curved and made from plastic with a curvature of 1800R.The panel measures 24 inches diagonally and has a 1920x1080 resolution. It supports AMD’s FreeSync technology, which ensures that your graphics card (needs to support FreeSync, too) and monitor stays in perfect sync to avoid tearing and stuttering. FreeSync works over both HDMI and DisplayPort, says Samsung.
The company emphasizes that the panel has a response time of 1 ms (g2g) and can run at up to 144Hz. C24FG70 can also reproduce a wide color gamut with 125% sRGB coverage. However, it is not clear if it has a DCI-P3 or AdobeRGB mode. Additionally, it has a flicker-free backlight.
C24FG70 is equipped with a special arm stand that offers flexibility. First and foremost it allows the user to adjust heights. It also offers swivel, tilt and pivot adjustment. On the rear you find HDMI and DisplayPort 1.2. As you can see from the photo, there is also a cable holder on the support arm.
The first monitor to be available in CFG70 range is 24" C24FG70 that will launch in October for 449 Euro.
