To be clear, Google has not yet invited anyone to the event but Android Police claims to know that the event will focus on new hardware.
The following products are expected to be announced:
Besides these new products, Google will detail its Google Home project; the small spherical device that can react to voice commands in the living room.
Android Police says that the information comes from a “reliable source”.
It is not clear if the new Chromecast will support HDR (high dynamic range), too, but it seems plausible.
The protocol behind Chromecast – Google Cast – already supports both 4K and HDR. This happened when Vizio launched its new TVs that ditch apps and the TV user interface in favor of Google Cast. These Vizio TVs were developed in collaboration with Google and can receive 4K and HDR streaming from services such as Netflix and Amazon.
