Apple offers 10-movie bundles for $10 to celebrate 10 years of iTunes
Apple is offering 6 different 10-movie bundles for $10 each to celebrate that it has been ten years since iTunes Movies was first launched. The catalog has grown from 75 titles at launch to over 385,000 titles today.Six 10-movie bundles
The offer is only available in the US, it seems. Here, Apple has been operating the iTunes Movies store for 10 years as of today.
iTunes Movies was launched by Steve Jobs in 2006, a year before the launch of iPhone, in a partnership with Disney. Back then only 75 titles were available but by January 2010 the catalog had grown significantly and more than 1.3 million movies had been purchased through iTunes. Today, more than 85,000 movies and 300,000 TV shows are available, according to Apple.
The six bundles include movies from Warner Bros, Universal, Lionsgate (two), Sony Pictures, and Paramount. There are 10 movies in each bundle, including lots of extra material; something Apple calls “iTunes Extras”. Each bundle can be yours for $10, but only today so act fast.
The following movies are included in each bundle:
Hopefully the next ten years will bring tons of movies in 4K and HDR quality to iTunes. Apple is currently offering up to 1080p HD quality.
