Twitter has launched an app for Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Microsoft Xbox One that streams select NFL games for free. You can also watch content from MLB, NBA, Bloomberg News, Periscope, Vine, and other partners.
Twitter live-streaming app
As rumored, twitter has launched an app for live-streaming video and curated video content. It will include live sports and you can watch everything on the big screen for free - no subscription or user login required.
All NFL’s Thursday Night Football games will be streamed. You can also enjoy select content from MLB, NBA, and news media such as Bloomberg. In addition, twitter is pushing live-streams from its subsidiaries Vine (short-form videos) and Periscope (live-broadcasting).

The new app is available now on Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Microsoft Xbox One. The company adds that the Apple TV app has exclusive features such as "live premium video” and “tweeted video clips” side-by-side. If you want, you can browse a twitter feed on the screen at the same time.
- ”These devices will bring Twitter's live streaming video experience to life on the TV screen,” said Anthony Noto, chief financial officer at Twitter. "Twitter has always been a great complement to TV, and now fans can enjoy even more premium video with live Tweets — and the best content on Twitter — right from their TVs. We're excited to introduce this new experience to people, without requiring a paywall or having to log in to Twitter.”
Streams are available in HD quality, says twitter.
The app is available globally for Apple TV. For Xbox One you can watch from the US, the UK, Australia, Canada, and Mexico. For Amazon Fire TV and Stick you can watch from the US and the UK.
