We first heard of the new Roku streamers in August and website Zatz Not Funny has now published product photos and more information on the new Roku ‘Express’, ‘Premiere’ and ‘Ultra’ boxes. Several of them will support 4K and HDR.
New 2016 Roku streamers
Roku will introduce five new streamer boxes based on a new naming scheme. ‘Express’ will be replace the entry-level Roku 1 and come in two versions: ‘Express’ and ‘Express Plus’. It is not clear what the differences are. These are HD models.

Roku will also release the ‘Premiere’ and ‘Premiere Plus’ boxes to replace Roku 2 and 3. Website Zatz Not Funny believes that both will feature 4K capabilities. The Plus will add Ethernet and microSD and possibly support for HDR (High Dynamic Range).

Lastly, there is the Roku ‘Ultra’, which is said to support 4K and HDR as well as a motion-control gaming remote and other possibly a USB port for accessing local media files. The USB port is not visible from the shot below but it may be located on one of right or left side of the box.

The leak suggests that an official announcement from Roku is near and we think it is safe to assume that the new streaming boxes will be out before the holiday shopping season. No words on pricing yet.
