The universal search feature has been activated on Apple TVs in the Netherlands, Mexico, Norway, Spain and Sweden. Additionally, new apps are supported in the US and Australia.
Apple TV universal search
Universal search on Apple TV allows the user to conduct Siri voice search or text searches and get results from several apps at once. For example, if you ask Siri to find “The Lord of the Rings” it will bring up results from iTunes, Netflix, and other services, and highlight the cheapest option.
At launch, universal search was limited to a few countries. It has since been expanded to cover Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, UK, and USA. Five of these countries were added this week.

Still, universal search is limited to very few services in many regions. In the US, it is available for a wide number of apps, but in other regions it can only search iTunes and Netflix. You can see which apps are supported in each region here.
With the update Apple has also added “The CW” app to universal search in the US as well as ABC iView and Plus7 in Australia.
