The Chinese company has a comprehensive line-up of TVs planned for release in the US in “early 2017”. These include the R8 featuring Dolby Vision as well as Hisense’s first ‘UHD Premium’ certified LCD TV branded “ULED”.
Hisense 2017 TV line-up
Perhaps Hisense did not get the memo? In 2017, a flagship LCD TV needs to include ‘Q’ in some form. Just ask Samsung and TCL. Joking aside, Hisense has several interesting TVs in its 2017 line-up.
Hisense has decided to bet on two horses, which also kind of divides the line-up in two. The ‘R’ models are built on the Roku OS, which in 2017 is compatible with both the HDR10 format and the Dolby Vision HDR format. The R8 series is Hisense’s first to support Dolby Vision. In order to properly reproduce HDR it takes advantage of a direct LED system.
In addition to the ‘R’ series models, Hisense will launch its ‘H’ series models. These use a different “Smart TV with full web browser” platform. Some of them will be sold under the ‘ULED’ moniker. This is not a new display technology but souped-up LCDs capable of reproducing HDR. The H10D series will feature full array local dimming and is Ultra HD Premium certified.
With the 2017 line-up Hisense is continuing its path from low-end to mid-range and high-end. We could highlight plenty of other features but will instead refer you to the overview tables below.
