Panasonic will launch the first UHD Blu-ray players with built-in recording features in Europe this spring. There will be a total of four models for satellite and cable TV.
UHD Blu-ray recorders
There have been VCRs, DVD recorders, and Blu-ray recorders. Here comes the first UHD Blu-ray recorders. Panasonic will introduce 2 models (DMR-UBC80 and DMR-UBC90) for cable TV and 2 models (DMR-UBS80 and DMR-UBS90) for satellite TV.
Besides having built-in DVB-S2 and DVB-C twin-tuners, Panasonic has also equipped them with DVB-T2 tuners for antenna TV. This allows you to record from more than one source and watch something else at the same time. The 80 series features a 1TB HDD whereas the 90 series comes with 2TB. If you need more storage you can connect an external USB HDD.

The players will also let you enjoy UHD Blu-ray movies as well as standard HD Blu-ray, DVD and CD. Panasonic has integrated its HCX picture processor that was first introduced in the 2016 TV line-up. There is also a Netflix app built-in.
The players will be available in Germany and other European markets from spring. Availability expanded to other regions such as the Nordics later this year. Prices start at around 850 Euro.
