Netflix adds download feature to Windows 10 app

04 Apr 2017 | Rasmus Larsen |

Netflix introduced offline viewing in late 2016 on Android and iOS. The same download feature is now available on Windows 10 PCs and mobile devices.

Offline viewing in Windows 10

Netflix was for a long time hesitant to go here but as the streaming service expanded globally it realized that offline viewing was essential in areas with poor broadband coverage. The download feature is also very handy for people traveling.

Netflix rolled out the new feature on Google Android and Apple iOS in December 2016. Netflix’s latest software update for the Windows 10 app adds the feature under the name ”Download & Go”.

The app is compatible with PCs, tablets, and smartphones running Windows 10.

Not all content is available for offline viewing, which has to do with rights. Netflix’s “originals” are always available to download, it seems.

The update is available now from the Windows Store.
