In September 2016, Loewe launched its first OLED TV, the so-called ‘bild 7’. The promised Dolby Vision software update has now arrived, according to German media. The update also adds support for the HLG format.
Support for 3 HDR formats
Loewe has raced past its direct competitor, Danish Bang & Olufsen, to launch an OLED TV. The German manufacturer is now adding support for all three major HDR formats via a software update.
That means the open HDR10 format as well as Dolby Vision and HLG.
Loewe promised at launch to add Dolby Vision via an update. That the update also includes HLG is a nice surprise. HLG is a HDR format for broadcast TV whereas HDR10 and Dolby Vision are used by streaming providers and on discs.
Besides the improved format support, the update enables owners to rename AV inputs. It is fixes an issue related to DVB-T2.
Loewe bild 7 is available now in Europe in 55 and 65 inch sizes.
