Roku has added another TV maker to the list. RCA will start selling Roku TVs in the US and Canada in “the coming months”.

RCA to launch Roku TVs

Roku is best known for the Roku streaming boxes but a few years back the company started partnering with second and third tier TV brands to integrate its operating system, Roku OS, directly into so-called ‘Roku TVs’.

Sharp, TCL, Hisense, Insignia, Hitachi and even LG are already selling Roku TVs. RCA is the latest company to join the team.

The actual TVs have yet to be announced but the company says that they will “be available in the U.S. and Canada in the coming months”. No pricing details were announced but we expect these models to be very affordable.

RCA has previously teamed up with Google to sell Android TVs. It is not clear if RCA will continue to do so. In the past, RCA has also sold “Roku ready” TVs that came bundled with a streaming stick.

The company says that 1 out of every 8 Smart TV purchases in the US in 2016 was a Roku TV. The platform currently offers access to 5000 apps and over 450,000 movies and TV episodes.
