Over the last few weeks, Panasonic’s 2017 LCD models have reached retailers across Europe. The new 4K TVs will feature “Switch” design, HDR support, and in one case an upgraded HCX2 picture engine. 4K models start at Ł700 / €650.
Panasonic 2017 LCD TVs
There is no new LCD flagship model in the 2017 line-up. DX900 from 2016 will carry over into 2017 with a reduced price tag. There are, however, several new mid-range LCD models.
The most affordable 4K model is EX600 (also sold as EX610). As you move up into the 7 series you get a twin-tuner and with EX780/EX750 an upgraded HCX2 picture engine, which builds on the foundation that the flagship DX900 formed last year. In our review, we were impressed by HCX1 so we expect a lot from the new processor.

There are no curved TVs in this year’s line-up. Panasonic even went as far as to call flat TVs a “key advantage” over the curved form factor. On the other hand Panasonic will sell, besides DX900, one model with 3D capabilities in EX780/EX750. The same model features a limited form of local dimming to enable HDR (High Dynamic Range) video. The more affordable models also, on paper, support HDR but lack the hardware. Apps such as Netflix and YouTube are available from the user interface.
