With the launch of the new ‘bild 4’ Loewe continues its transition to OLED technology. It will be the German company’s most affordable OLED TV to date at 2990 Euro. At the other end of the scale, is a new 77-inch model that is not exactly affordable.
More OLED TVs from Loewe
Loewe is now offering a total of four TV ranges built on OLED technology, namely bild 9, bild 7, bild 5, and bild 4. Neither of these are exactly cheap but with the launch of bild 4, Loewe is once again aiming for a lower price point.
The TV has a built-in soundbar under the screen. In the top right corner is a discreet Loewe logo. bild 4 is available in piano black and tilts slightly backwards. The stand and speaker fabric is black to match the bezel.

Despite the lower price point, bild 4 still comes with 4K resolution and support for three HDR formats (Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG). Inside is a 2017 OLED OLED panel from LG.Display. The soundbar delivers 80W total effect and the TV also has a built-in 5.1 surround decoder, says Loewe. In addition, there are apps, tuners for all types of broadcasts, HbbTV, and 4 HDMI ports.
Compared to the slightly more expensive bild 5 you lose the built-in hard drive. It is still possible to record TV programs and gain access to Loewe’s suite of features but you will need to buy an external USB hard drive and connect it to the TV.

Loewe bild 4 is available only in 55 inches as ‘bild 4.55’. It will be available in Europe in June for 2990 Euro, which is more or less the same as LG’s B7 OLED.
Besides Loewe, a number of other manufacturers including LG, Sony, Panasonic and Philips have, or will over the course of the next few months, launch OLED TVs. Bang & Olufsen is expected to launch a high-end TV to match Loewe’s most exclusive bild 9.

77” Loewe OLED
With the roll-out of the new, more affordable OLED TVs, Loewe is also adding a 77-inch model to the bild 7 range that has previously been available in 55 and 65-inch sizes.
The TV is meant to cater to the “feinschmecker”; a discerning buyer who wants the best and is willing to pay a premium. It will certainly not be cheap as it carries a price tag of 14990 Euro, which includes a wall bracket. Still, compared to some of the other 77-inch OLED TVs on the market, such as LG’s W7 wallpaper TV, it is actually less expensive.

The bild 7 series is one of the few remaining OLED ranges with 3D functionality on the market but be aware that it does not apply to the 77-inch model. Later this year, Loewe will upgrade the 55 and 65-inch versions to the 2017 OLED panel, which means that 3D will no longer be an option.
Most of Loewe’s OLED TVs are available now across Europe, including in the UK and Germany.
