After unveiling its first OLED TV last year around this time, Grundig has now launched an updated version based on the 2017 panel. The 65-inch TV has a slim aluminum frame and a built-in twin tuner.

You may remember the Grundig brand from the good old days of picture tube TVs when it was one of the leading manufacturers. Today, the brand has been licensed to Turkey’s Arçelik who has a plan to offer the latest technology at competitive prices.
The 65-inch TV is available in Europe starting at around 5000 Euro, depending on your region, which makes it somewhat more expensive that the LG B7 series that was launched in spring of 2017. On the other hand it is significantly cheaper than 65-inch OLED TVs from brands such as Sony, Panasonic, and Loewe.
The company says that the 65” VLO9795 has an ultra-thin aluminum frame that measures just 6 mm at its thinnest point. It is also equipped with a twin-tuner and USB recording features. The 2017 OLED panel is as flat as your wall and features 4K resolution as well as support for HDR. There are built-in 60W speakers.
Grundig actually announced its first OLED TV at the IFA show in September 2016 but it was a no-show in most European markets. The 2017 model is an updated version of the TV. It lacks 3D – like all other 2017 models – but offers extended media functionality.
With the Grundig launch, you can add another brand to the list of OLED TVs. The company will need to convince consumers in Europe to look its way as it is facing stiff completion from more established manufacturers such as LG, Panasonic, Sony, Loewe, Philips, and later this year Bang & Olufsen. Amongst the leading TV manufacturers only Samsung has decided to stick with LCD for its flagship TVs this year.
The 65-inch Grundig 65VLO9795 is available in Europe now starting from around 5000 Euro.
