Amazon is planning to soon release two new Fire TV models, a box and a stick, capable of outputting video in 4K HDR and 60fps, according leaked details found by AFTVnews.
4K HDR Fire TV models
If true, these will be the first HDR (High Dynamic Range) enabled Fire TV devices from Amazon. The current Fire TV streaming player supports 4K resolution but not HDR.
The first device is apparently a Fire TV Stick that will support 4K HDR at up to 60 frames per second. It will not replace the current low-cost Stick that will continue to be the entry-level model, claims AFTVnews.
The second device is a cube-shaped Fire TV box that will include far-field microphones for full Amazon Echo functionality via the Alexa voice system. This will allow viewers to speak commands from the couch without having to press the remote first. This box will also support 4K HDR at 60fps. It is furthermore believed to have an IR emitter to control A/V equipment, besides the current HDMI CEC control system.

The report claims that the new Fire TV Stick will be announced this month and released in October. The new flagship model will apparently be announced at a later date.
