Sony adds DTS:X support to HT-ST5000 "Atmos" soundbar

FlatpanelsHD broke the news about the upcoming DTS firmware update in July. Sony has today made good on its promise.
The firmware will be available to all owners by the end of September and adds support for DTS:X, which is an object-based audio format similar to Dolby Atmos. In addition, the firmware adds support for DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS Digital Surround, Sony confirmed.

Users can enjoy the rich detail of Hi-Res Audio and a whole-home solution with Google Home compatibility and multi-room listening,” the company said.
Sony HT-ST5000 is a 7.1.2 channel soundbar with 800 Watts of total output. The soundbar supports Spotify Connect and Chromecast.
