Google had warned that it would block YouTube on Amazon’s Fire TV devices on January 1, 2018. The app has been deactivated a few days early, according to Fast Company.
Google Amazon Feud
The feud between Amazon and Google has claimed another victim. After Amazon has seemingly refusing to sell Google’s devices online and offer Amazon Prime on Chromecast, Google has hit back by blocking access to YouTube on Amazon’s Fire TV and Echo devices.

The companies have said that they are in talks to end the escalating feud but with the latest development it appears that it has only gotten worse.
Amazon is redirecting users to its Silk browser as well as the Firefox browser to access YouTube. While this is not an optimal solution, it ensures access to YouTube via the open web.
