Sony X700 with Dolby Vision
Sony will soon issue the long-awaited Dolby Vision update to its TVs but you will have to wait a little longer for the player to go with them.
Sony will launch the UBP-X700 this month but in order to play back Dolby Vision Blu-ray discs it will require a firmware update. Sony tells us that it expects the update to roll out in “summer 2018”.

X700 obviously conforms to the UHD Blu-ray specification meaning that in addition to Dolby Vision, it supports the base HDR10 format as well as 4K resolution.
Sony tells us that the player will also offer 4K-compatible apps from Netflix, Amazon and YouTube. In addition, it supports high-res audio formats.
Sony will release UBP-X700 this month in the US and Europe.
