Most people talk about smart speakers, wearables, and the connected home but 4K TVs are expected to once again be the biggest hit among emerging tech products in 2018, according to a forecast shared by CTA at CES 2018.
The 4K TV is a hit
Judging from the general vibe in the news you quickly get the impression that smart speakers like Amazon Echo, VR headsets like Oculus Rift and drones are the new blockbuster hits.
But all of those are small in scale compared to 4K TVs that are expected to be the biggest hit of the emerging tech products in 2018, according to CTA. The forecast was released at CES 2018 and show that Americans are expected to spend almost as many dollars on 4K TVs as the next five “emerging” tech products combined.
While 4K TVs may not be the most recent development on the list, CTA still labels it an ”emerging” technology. 4K TVs has most recently started offering HDR support.
