The company recently added a live sports section to its ‘TV’ app on Apple TV and iPhone/iPad, and is now expanding with live news feeds from Bloomberg, CBS, CNBC, CNN, Fox, and others.
A modern TV guide
Apple’s so-called TV app is available on Apple TV as well as iPhone/iPad as a modern TV guide that pulls content from multiple services. At launch, it was mostly focused on movies and TV programs but has since been expanded with live sports, which currently includes a Winter Olympics section.
Apple has now added a live news section, according to a report by 9to5Mac. It gives you direct access to live news from Bloomberg, CBS News, Cheddar, CNBC, CNN, and Fox News. You can also use Siri voice commands to start live news by saying “Play Bloomberg”.

The news section appears to be live in the ‘TV’ app only if you have the latest version of iOS and tvOS installed, meaning version 11.2.5. And only in the US.
The ‘TV’ app is currently available in 8 countries. It launched in the US in December 2016 and expanded to Australia and Canada in September 2017. It rolled out in Sweden and Norway in November 2017, and reached the UK, France, and Germany in December 2017.
Some of the countries next in line appear to be Japan, Netherlands, Spain, and Mexico.
