Netflix has an app for almost any device out there but 70% of all viewing is happening on a TV, the company has told Recode. Even users who sign up from a PC or handheld device eventually drift towards a TV.
Turns out, people prefer a TV
Only a few years ago, any naive trend researcher would have told you that smartphones and tablets are taking over. It is basically the same idea that some people touted about PCs in the 90’s and early 00’s.
And while smartphones do take over some of the tasks that people employ a PC for, smartphone and tablets are not replacing TVs for video entertainment. The TV remains the entertainment center in the home.
How do we know? Well, besides all of the other data points that we have received over the last couple of years, this one from Netflix probably shows it best (via Recode). As time passes, people will increasingly move to the larger screen.

But but, think about the kids nowadays!
We have. In fact, kids are even more likely to watch Netflix on a TV than adults are.

So, there you have it. All of our PCs, tablets, and smartphones are connected to the internet. Imagine what will happen once all of our TV sets are. Who wants to watch a movie on a tiny screen anyway?
