Sony cuts price on PlayStation VR
Sony has reduced the price by 100 USD / Euro to make PlayStation VR considerably cheaper than competing headsets from Oculus and HTC. The price cut is effective now and the headset is already selling for even less.Virtual reality on PlayStation
The price cut is effective across Europe, the US, and other regions. Sony has reduced the price by 100 USD or Euro to offer a PlayStation VR bundle for $300 in the US or €300 in Europe.
PlayStation VR was launched in October 2016 and must be connected to a PlayStation 4 console. It transports the viewer into a virtual game world. Sony said that there are “over 100 games and experiences” available, including Skyrim VR, GT Sport and Doom.
In early December 2017, Sony announced that it had sold 2 million PlayStation VR units globally but virtual reality has not been the blockbuster hit that some had expected. Microsoft has yet to launch a VR solution for Xbox. Facebook sells the Oculus Rift, whereas HTC and Valve sell the Vive VR.
