LG’s C8 and E8 models have started shipping in the US and Europe. These are 2018 OLED TVs with 4K resolution and Dolby Vision in sizes ranging from 55 to 77 inches.
B8 and W8 coming later
Besides C8 and E8, LG will this year introduce W8 (the ”wallpaper”) and B8, which will be the most affordable new OLED range. From C8 and up picture quality will be identical, whereas B8 will use a scaled-down video processor.
Major new features include the ’Alpha 9’ video processor and new smart functions. LG has partnered with Google to include voice command features via Google Assistant. The TVs are still powered by webOS.

All of LG’s 2018 OLED TVs offer 4K resolution and support for four HDR formats, including Dolby Vision. The TVs have built-in Dolby Atmos processing but only the W8 model has capable speakers in the form of an external soundbar. The other models can pass Dolby Atmos via HDMI ARC.

E8 has received a design makeover to make the soundbar appear less dominant. It still features a glass design. C8 will for the first time be available in a 77-inch size that will be significantly cheaper than last year’s 77-inch OLED TVs.
