LG B8, first announced at CES, has joined the other OLED models in LG’s 2018 line-up. It comes with 4K resolution, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos processing, and is now available in the US and Europe.
LG B8 OLED
A couple of months ago, LG launched its first 2018 OLED ranges; C8 and E8. The South Korean company is now adding a more affordable B8 option to the line-up in 55 and 65-inch sizes.
It was first announced at CES 2018 together with the other new models.

LG B8 offers most of the same features and technologies as the more expensive 2018 LG OLED models, including 4K resolution, support for four HDR formats (HDR10, HLG, Dolby Vision and Advanced HDR), and Dolby Atmos processing – and the OLED panel is identical. However, B8 is equipped with a less powerful Alpha 7 video processor than the Alpha 9 in the other new models.
You have access to apps and services such as HBO, Hulu, Netflix, and YouTube through LG’s webOS platform. The platform has reached version 4.0 that will be available only in the 2018 models. B8 is also equipped with four HDMI inputs and built-in WiFi.

Starting at $2100
LG’s B and C ranges have historically been some of the most affordable OLED TVs on the market but Panasonic surprised many enthusiasts in Europe earlier this month when it introduced the FZ800 and FZ950 OLED models at aggressive starting prices.
At least in some regions LG had planned to debut B8 at a higher starting price but given the slightly delayed timing of the launch of B8, it seems as if the company has reacted swiftly to the current market situation. Perhaps 2018 will finally be the year when OLED TVs become truly affordable.
