Samsung USA is discounting the Q9F, Q8F, Q7F, and Q6F series TVs as part of its Black Friday 2018 sale. However, the deals are not great.
Samsung’s Black Friday 2018 deals
Samsung says that you can save up to $1500 dollars (82” Q6FN) on its “QLED” LCD TVs. Like LG, Samsung is kicking off the sale ahead of Friday, November 23, so you have time to decide.
- “Save up to 40% on select QLED TVs with Black Friday offers available now,” the company said.
The 65- and 75-inch Q9FN models are now available for $3000 and $5000, respectively. While there are savings to be had compared to the list price, the discounted prices still seem expensive to us. For $500 less you can buy the 65-inch LG B8 OLED.
Q9FN is Samsung’s 4K flagship. The LCD panel inside has full array local dimming, which is required for proper HDR video on an LCD panel. The Q8FN has a scaled-down version with fewer dimming zones, whereas the Q7FN and Q6FN models use edge LED that cannot do proper HDR. We recommend that you steer clear of edge LED based LCD TVs in today’s market – especially at these prices.
