Select Loewe TVs now support “personalized sound” developed in partnership with Mimi Hearing Technologies. It “adapts to fit individuals’ unique hearing ability”, the company said.

The new feature in Loewe’s TVs is called Mimi Defined and it can customize sound based on the viewer’s age group and a database of over one million digital hearing test results.
- ”Thanks to more than 1 million hearing tests carried out by the Mimi Defined App, it's quick and easy to select the appropriate hearing profile on your Loewe TV and enjoy the sound spectrum to the full,” the company explained. “First, make sure that your device is compatible with Mimi Defined by entering your article and serial numbers together with your personal details. Then enter your voucher code, and Loewe will use your serial and article numbers to produce a unique Mimi Defined activation code which can be entered directly on your Loewe TV.”

Mimi Hearing Technologies was founded in Berlin in 2014 and has, in collaboration with Charité Universitätsmedizin in Berlin, created a database of more than 1 million digital hearing tests from across 150 countries. This database is used to optimize sound, the company said. The viewer will not have an actual hearing test performed.

The result is “improved sound for everyone - across generations”. The technology is already used in some headphones but this is the first time that it has been deployed in a TV. FlatpanelsHD has not had a chance to experience the system yet.
- “Loewe is synonymous with perfection and enjoyment in entertainment. We are very pleased to be able to bring our personalised sound experience into people's living rooms with Loewe to enjoy TV together with the best-possible combination of imagery and sound,” said Dr. Henrik Matthies, Managing Director, Mimi Hearing Technologies.
Mimi Defined was first demonstrated at IFA 2018 and is now available across Europe. It is compatible with new Loewe TVs (chassis SL4xx and up) and via a software up to “many existing models”, the company said.
