Samsung has announced three new partnerships to bring famous paintings from Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent van Gogh, Botticelli, and others to ‘The Frame’ – the company’s lifestyle TV.
New art partnerships
Samsung has partnered with Uffizi Galleries (Italy), Te Papa (New Zealand), and The Van Gogh Museum (Netherlands) to bring 62 classic pieces of art to the art store that is integrated in the company’s ‘The Frame’ TV.
- “The Frame has gained global popularity, and we are thrilled to continue to provide consumers with new artworks to enjoy from the comfort of their homes,” said Seline Han, VP of Samsung’s Visual Display. “We strive to redefine how a product can provide value to consumers’ unique lifestyles, and we believe that The Frame does just that. Our latest partnerships and concession will allow users to access even more rare masterpieces to enhance their home décor.”
Some of the new art pieces include Botticelli’s ‘Allegory of the Spring’ and ‘Birth of Venus’; Leonardi da Vinci’s ‘Annunciation’; Vincent Van Gogh’s ‘The Yellow House’, ‘The Bedroom’ and ‘Sunflowers’; and art from Te Papa such as ‘Sunset, Hastings”, ‘Hypoplectrodes semicinctum 1876’ and ‘Three Huia’.
The company said that there are now “more than 1,000 exceptional works of art and photography” available through the Samsung Art Store.
Samsung launched The Frame as a lifestyle TV in 2017 and refreshed the model in 2018 with a few new features. FlatpanelsHD has reviewed The Frame and while it does not excel in picture quality, it offers a unique spin on how to integrate a TV screen into a modern living environment. It is available in 43 to 65 inches.
