Samsung is planning to expand the voice assistant features in its 2019 TV models, specifically by adding support for Google Assistant, according to a report by Variety.
Google Assistant joins Bixby
Samsung TVs currently feature the company’s in-house voice assistant called Bixby. However, Bixby is limited to a few regions, meaning that most owners have no access to voice assistant features in their Samsung TV.
The Korean company is preparing to add support for third-party voice assistant into its 2019 TVs, similar to how LG, Sony, and other competitors support multiple voice assistant systems. Variety claims that Samsung is planning to integrate Google Assistant and that the partnership may be announced at CES 2019 next month.

The report also claims that Samsung will put a bigger emphasis on audio quality by using technology that analyzes the room and automatically optimizes sound. Such systems are employed in connected speakers such as Apple HomePod and Google Home Max.
Samsung has unveiled two new lifestyle TVs for 2019 and is expected to announce its wider 2019 TV line-up at CES next month.
