Sony A9G OLED wins 'King of TV' at 2019 TV Shootout
Like last year, Sony's OLED TV was crowned 'King of TV' at the 2019 Value Electronics TV Shootout. It competed against the LG C9 OLED, Samsung Q90R LCD, and Sony Z9F LCD.2019 King of TV
Last year, Sony ended LG's four-year run as the winner of the annual shootout event in the US. At this year's event, Sony's new A9G OLED TV once again impressed a panel of expert judges. It was voted the winner in three award categories, and was tied with LG C9 in the fourth category.

The shootout was arranged by Scarsdale-based audio/video retailer Value Electronics and was held in collaboration with CE Week at the Jacob Javits convention center. A panel of professional video colorists, finishers, TV reviewers, and video scientists were asked to vote in four distinct categories after side-by-side testing with "test patterns and real content to demonstrate all attributes of picture quality, including contrast, color fidelity, color saturation, and motion resolution".
The two OLED TVs scored higher in most individual disciplines across SDR and HDR. The Sony Z9F LCD won one discipline (SDR Dynamic Range) while the Samsung Q90R did not win any specific discipline.

At the time of publication, Sony's 65" A9G is the most expensive of the TVs at $3800. The 65" Samsung Q90R is $500 less, the 65" LG C9 is $600 less, and the 65" Sony Z9F (a 2018 model) is $800 less.
