Cambridge Audio CXUHD gains HDR10+, support for Sony Dolby Vision TVs

With the release of the latest firmware update, Cambridge Audio's CXUHD Blu-ray player has gained HDR10+ support along with support for the special flavor of Dolby Vision in Sony TVs.

Cambridge Audio's CXUHD is now an UHD Blu-ray player with multi-HDR support. Following the release of firmware version 66-0614, it will spin discs in HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.

Besides HDR10+ support, the firmware adds support for the special flavor of Dolby Vision found in Sony TVs. All playback devices must be built to support, or updated with, this particular Dolby Vision profile to be compatible with Sony TVs. Otherwise they will fall back on standard HDR10.



The player is built on the same hardware platform as the Oppo 203. When Oppo announced in April 2018 that it would exit the disc market, Cambridge Audio said that "our customers can rest assured that firmware will continue to be maintained and updates released from time to time". The company has followed through on those promises.
