Elon Musk has announced that Netflix and YouTube video streaming will be coming to Tesla cars soon. Once self-driving is approved, it will be enabled while moving.

You can of course bring a smartphone or tablet to the car but a Tesla is equipped with a data connection, a large screen, and multiple speakers. Tesla wants to enable owners to enjoy video entertainment on this system.
- "Ability to stream YouTube and Netflix when car is stopped coming to your Tesla soon! Has an amazingly immersize, cinematic feel due to the comfy seats and surround sound audio,” Elon Musk, Tesla CEO, announced on twitter.
Blocked while driving
The screen in Tesla cars already offers access to a handful of games that are blocked while driving. The same will be the case for video streaming services initially.
Elon Musk said that once full self-driving capabilities are ready and approved by regulators around the world, video streaming will be enabled while moving.

Streaming services, in particular Netflix and YouTube, are available on a wide range of devices and will in the future most likely be available in many vehicles, too.
