Infuse for Apple TV & iOS now supports Dolby Vision

The latest version of the Infuse media player app (version 6.1.4) brings support for Dolby Vision HDR video to Apple TV and iOS.

Together with Plex, Infuse is one of the most popular media player apps for Apple TV. Infuse has supported 4K HDR video playback since the launch of Apple TV 4K and the latest update adds Dolby Vision support.

FireCore, the company behind Infuse, notes that only single-layer Dolby Vision is supported at this time. The company is continually adding new features. Version 6.1.4 includes no other major new features but in recent months Infuse has gained support for Plex Collections, iCloud libraries, integration with Box, Google Drive and OneDrive, and more.



However, Infuse still lacks support for another Dolby format, namely Dolby Atmos audio. That is because tvOS is currently limiting Dolby Atmos support to online streaming services (and Dolby Digital Plus).

Infuse version 6.1.4 is a free update for users who have purchased Infuse 6.
